Dear Members,

we are happy to bring to your attention some recent and future highlights:

1. Maxi Scherer wins GAR award
Our keynote speaker at the VAD 2018, Professor Maxi Scherer, has received the Global Arbitration Review's award for best lecture or speech for her keynote on International Arbitration 3.0 – How Artificial Intelligence Will Change Dispute Resolution.

We congratulate Maxi Scherer, who is a professor at the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London and special counsel and member of WilmerHale's International Arbitration Group, for this well-deserved recognition of her excellent contribution to our Conference!

2. Arb|Aut Forum
The topic of the 7th Arb|Aut Forum was "Construction Disputes Before Arbitral Tribunals and the State Courts". Erhard Böhm (Baier partners) and Philipp Duncker (Hogan Lovells) shared their experiences with a diverse and engaging audience and enabled a lively discussion.
We will remember Philipp Duncker when he suggested that larger construction cases are too complex to be brought before and decided by state courts in Germany.
Visit our Gallery for photos of the event.
