Hello, goodbye, and welcome! A new Co-Chair and an opening on the Advisory Board
We have both exciting news and a moment of farewell to share. First, we’re delighted to announce that
Stephanie Rohmann has been appointed as the
new Co-Chair of Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners (YAAP) for the 2025-2026 term, alongside Markus Beham.
At the same time, we will say
goodbye at the end of this year to
Yoanna Schuch, who has served YAAP with dedication and vision, first as an Advisory Board Member since 2019 and, more recently, as Co-Chair for nearly two years. A big thank you, Yoanna, for all your great work!
Looking ahead, Yoanna’s Advisory Board position will open from January 2025. We are now accepting
applications, providing an exciting opportunity for members to step into an impactful role within YAAP.

– several years of experience in international arbitration;
– willingness and availability to actively organize and in engage YAAP activities, events and projects; and
– preferably previous involvement in YAAP activities.

YAAP Roundtables in 2025 to send an email to

Philip Exenberger (Dorda Rechtsanwälte, Vienna) and David Coyne (Construction Delay Expert Witness, Paris) discussed the challenges of construction disputes and collaboration with experts. They provided valuable practical insights, highlighting key lessons and experiences in construction arbitration across Europe.
7 November 2024: YAAP Roundtable – "Shareholder Disputes and Arbitration: A love-hate relationship?
Our most recent YAAP Roundtable saw Lukas Wedl (Torggler, Vienna) share his insights as Counsel in shareholder disputes handled in the context of arbitration, focussing particularly on the controversial Swarovski decision.
