Dear Members and Friends,
By now you will have fully recovered from this year’s Vis Moot experience – which was, again, topping the previous years: The 26th edition of the Vis Moot has outperformed all expectations, with 378 teams bringing a unique young and international atmosphere to Vienna. Congratulations to the Vis Moot organizers Prof. Stefan Kröll, Christopher Kee, Patrizia Netal and of course to all participants who showed impressive and passionate advocacy skills. It is this event that for a week makes Vienna the center of the arbitration world!
From the visions of the Vis Moot to the challenges of daily work life: Those challenges you face with arbitral institutions can be solved this Wednesday already. Meet your case managers from Milan, Cologne, Stockholm and Vienna in a relaxed atmosphere over drinks at Café Prückel, this Wednesday, starting 6:30pm (scroll down for the details).
Yours,
Lisa & Filip

REVIEW: ICC-YAF-YAAP-Conference “Young Approaches to Arbitration”, Vienna, 13 April 2019
On the occasion of the Vis Moot, YAAP and ICC YAF co-organized the Young Approaches to Arbitration-conference, this year at the Vienna Ballhaus in the famous Berggasse – home to Sigmund Freud. The conference saw a lively Oxford style debate on the proposition “
Searching for the truth: This is what arbitration is about.”, moderated by Olivier Mosimann and featuring Jelena Bezarević Pajić, Alexander Zollner, Marleen Krueger and Laura Zimmerman. This was followed by the traditional ICC Call for Ideas moderated by Maria Irene Perruccio and Emmanuel Kaufmann. Last, in a Mock Case, Gebhard Bücheler, Mária Poláková, Heidrun Halbartschlager and Marlene Sauer explored the “Sorrows of the Young Arbitrator”. Demonstrating their acting skills, they show-cased practical solutions to real-time problems typically faced by junior arbitrators. Details can be found in the event flyer
here. Thanks to everyone for joining!
