The young arbitration practitioners from Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland invite you to join this year's Summer Retreat. The focus of this edition of the Practice Building Seminar lies on Pitching. With the assistance of pitching professionals, you will establish your own pitch and focus on topics such as telling your story, presenting your team and selling your expertise.
Date: Friday/Saturday 19 - 20 July 2019
Venue: Landgut Bocken, Horgen, Zurich (Switzerland)
The Summer Retreat will commence on Thursday, 18 July 2019 at 7pm with (optional) Pre-Conference Drinks at the roof top bar Helvetia in the center of Zurich. The drinks are co-organised with ASAb40 and are kindly sponsored by Pestalozzi Attorneys at Law.
Friday, 19 July 2019
The official program starts on Friday, 19 July 2019 at 9.15am at Seminarhotel Bocken in Horgen, on the south side of lake Zurich. We recommend that you take a train to Horgen and from there, a short bus ride to Bocken. A direct train from Zurich airport (S2) leaves every 30min (e.g. at 8:06am or 8:36am) and direct trains from Zurich main station go even more frequently (S8 at 8:37am; S2 at 8:47am; S24 at 8:51am). Find your best connection on http://www.sbb.ch (“Zürich Flughafen” or “Zürich HB” to “Horgen, Bocken”).
After a short welcome, Mr Felix Ehrat, former general counsel at Novartis, will give a key note speech followed by a short discussion and introduction into the program. We will then split into four teams for the interactive workshops tackling the various challenges of pitching from different angles and new perspectives. Each team will represent prepare a pitch responding to the request for proposal. Please take the time to read the request for proposal before you arrive in Horgen and please bring a laptop.
We will finish the day with drinks and dinner at Seminarhotel Bocken.
Saturday, 20 July
On Saturday morning, each team will present its pitch to a distinguished panel and the other teams, opening the floor for a general debate on the various pitches and the lessons learned.
Following the hard day’s work, we will walk down the hill to the lakeside restaurant Imperiale where lunch will be served.
The Summer Retreat ends on Saturday, 20 July 2019 at approx. 15.00h.
